CHOCOLAT NOIR 99% LIQUIDE – Score: 7/10

Troisième opus provenant de La Maison du Whisky, célèbre boutique parisienne. Cette fois, nous revenons vers le traditionnel fût de Sherry (Oloroso). Il faut dire que les expériences de fût de bourbon ne m’ont pas convaincu des masses. J’ai donc grand espoir dans cette nouvelle dégustation de ce jour.

Le nez m’attire vraiment, j’y décèle même un peu de vanille (???). Je me verse cet échantillon dans mon vieux glencairn et démarre avec enthousiasme cette nouvelle découverte.

Un cask strength très abordable à un taux d’alcool de 54,1% qui ne nous agresse pas la bouche. La texture est plutôt aqueuse, tapissant faiblement la bouche. L’attaque est légère, rappelant la banane plantain pas mûre. On passe très rapidement sur le cacao, le chocolat noir de chez noir. Et on y reste… du début à la fin. Dommage, il manque cruellement de complexité à ce Glendro pour rentrer dans la cour des grands.

Third opus from La Maison du Whisky, the famous Parisian whisky boutique. This time we return to the traditional Sherry cask (Oloroso). It must be said that the bourbon cask experiments did not convince me at all. So I have high hopes for this new tasting today.

The nose really attracts me, I even detect a little vanilla (???). I pour this sample into my old glencairn and enthusiastically start this new discovery.

A very affordable cask strength at an alcohol content of 54.1% that does not attack our mouth. The texture is rather watery, weakly lining the mouth. The foreplay is light, reminiscent of unripe plantains. We move on very quickly on cocoa, darkest chocolate. And we stay there … from beginning till the end. Too bad, this Glendro is sorely lacking in complexity to enter the top league.
