Toujours dans l’exploration de la gamme Compass Box, nous nous tournons à présent vers un Double Single au prix nettement plus élevé que les prédécesseurs (nous tournons tout de même aux alentours de 150€)
Double Single, c’est avant tout un mariage entre un single malt de Glen Elgin et un Single Grain de chez Girvan.
Le mariage de ces deux Singles donnent un résultat très surprenant qui me rappellent les montagnes suisses et leurs célèbres bonbons Ricola (sucrerie aux herbes).
En effet, l’attaque est poivrée, mentholée et accompagnée jusqu’à la finale de notes herbeuses et fruitières telles le kiwi ou la pomme verte.
Un whisky vraiment étonnant et atypique ayant une belle texture huileuse et une finale plutôt longue en bouche.

Still exploring the Compass Box range, we are now turning to a Double Single at a much higher price than the predecessors (around € 150)
The Double Single is above all a combination between a single malt from Glen Elgin and a Single Grain from Girvan.
The marriage of these two Singles gives a very surprising result that reminds me of the Swiss mountains and their famous Ricola candies (herbal candy).
Indeed, the attack is peppery, minty and accompanied until the finish by grassy and fruity notes such as kiwi or green apple.
A truly astonishing and atypical whisky with a beautiful oily texture and a rather long finish in the mouth.
