Aberlour 10 years – Forest Reserve

EXCELLENT RAPPORT QUALITE/PRIX – Score : 7/10

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY – Score: 7/10

First of all, a little clarification about my quotation system: unlike many critics, I do not limit my rating between 70 and 100 but I use the whole range from 0 to 100 (otherwise why havng a rate out of 100, I ask the question).

So, for a bad whisky, many will give a number between 70 and 75 while I will give a 10 or 20.

I report the whole out of 10 for better readability.

Now let’s talk about the product: Aberlour 10 Year Forest Reserve.
An entry-level Aberlour, unpretentious and inexpensive (around € 35 to € 40) but which does the job.

Sweet, (sherry casks), light notes of vanilla and fresh fruit, a very very slight presence of bitterness on the finish (not very long) gives it this little extra character.

Pleasant as an aperitif, together with banana chips completes the sweet and savory flavors.

It is certainly not the whisky of the year but good for beginners, a nice malt to have in your bar.
