TROP D’ARDBEG TUE LE ARDBEG – Score 4/10

Je vous avais dit dans un précédent post qu’il y avait pire Ardbeg que le An Oa et bien le voici, c’est le Corryvreckan.

De passage dans cette charmante ville de Bern, je me suis rendu dans ce magnifique bar qu’est le Kornhauskeller. A découvrir si vous êtes de passage dans cette ville, ils ont une belle sélection de whisky.

Ce soir là donc, je me suis lancé dans la dégustation de cet Ardbeg Corryvreckan. Et là, déception totale. Un Ardbeg surfait, surjouant son rôle d’Ardbeg en ayant trop de fumé, trop de cendre, trop de caramel, trop de tout… Un alcool écoeurant, manquant cruellement de souplesse, de finesse, de subtilité.

Chance pour moi, il y avait bien d’autres whisky à goûter j’ai donc pu me rattraper sur un autre dram.

Mais ça, c’est une autre histoire.

TOO MUCH ARDBEG KILLS ARDBEG – Score 4/10

I told you in a previous post that there was worse Ardbeg than the An Oa and here it is, it’s the Corryvreckan.

While passing through this charming town of Bern, I visited this magnificent bar called the Kornhauskeller. You need to discover it if you are passing through this city, they have a nice selection of whisky.

Hence, that evening, I started tasting this Ardbeg Corryvreckan. And here we go : total disappointment. An Ardbeg overdoing its role as Ardbeg by having too much smoke, too much ashes, too much caramel, too much of everything… A sickening alcohol, sorely lacking in suppleness, finesse, subtlety.

Luckily for me there were plenty of other whiskies to taste so I was able to catch up on another dram.

But that’s another story.
