Sortons des sentiers battus aujourd’hui pour nous diriger vers une autre île que la Grande-Bretagne. Et quoi de plus exotique qu’une île aux antipodes de l’Ecosse : la Tasmanie.

Sur cette petite île où vit le diable, a été fondée en 1999 une distillerie de whisky par quelques fermiers ayant une idée totalement folle : produire du whisky.

C’est donc une version de 15 d’âge qui me sera proposé ce jour à la dégustation.

La découverte ne sera pas vaine, c’est une véritable corne d’abondance qui surgira dans notre palais avec des saveurs de salade de fruit, en veux-tu, en voilà.

Fruit de la passion, abricot, melon, nectarine, vanille le tout surmonté de menthe fraîche. Un régal pour les papilles gourmandes.

Un whisky plus proche du style irlandais qu’écossais mais une belle réussite tout de même et permettant à des novices dans le monde du whisky d’y trouver leur compte.

Passion fruit, apricot, melon, nectarine, vanilla all topped with fresh mint. A treat for gourmet taste buds.

A whisky closer to the Irish than Scottish style but a great success all the same and allowing novices in the world of whisky to find their account.
