Hasard du calendrier, alors que je m’apprêtes à savourer un Bruichladdich 1981 de 15 ans d’âge embouteillé par l’embouteilleur italien Moon Import pour célébrer le mariage du Prince Charles et de Lady Diana, ce même Charles accédait au trône d’Angleterre suite au décès de la reine Elizabeth II.
Je vous promet que je ne savais pas en choisissant le breuvage et ne l’ai découvert que lorsque la bouteille me fût présenté.
Je vis donc cela comme un bon présage et fut confiant sur la qualité du produit.
Et de fait, c’est un whisky de bonne facture. Rond, puissant, goûteux, le sherry ayant fait son travail au sein de l’orge et nous offrant des familières notes de fruits rouges à peine mûrs et de raisin noir, le tout très vineux.
La finale sera par contre sur le poivre noir et le café, la rendant un poil âcre en bouche.
Cela reste un excellent whisky si on apprécie le punch éthylique.

It remains an excellent whisky if you appreciate the alcoholic punch.
