UN JUS DE COMPOSTE – Score: 1,5/10

english version below

COMPOST JUICE – Score: 1.5/10

Loch Lomond, contrary to what one might think, is not as old a distillery as that. Its foundation dates back to 1964, by the former owners of Littlemill.

This long family group and recently bought by an investment fund, produces different spirits but, as far as we are concerned, two single malts including the Inchmurrin brand (named after the island on Loch Lomond).

This is the first time that I have tasted a whisky from this distillery and it is a gift of a sample by one of the members of our club that the opportunity arises for me to discover it.

This Inchmurrin is bottled by Robert Scott – the master distiller of the Speyside distillery – with his own bottling house soberly named Scott’s Selection.

I don’t know if Robert personally chose this barrel but from my point of view the choice is totally missed. The malt is execrable, wood and mint dominate while alternating between bitterness and ethyl spiciness. A few notes of rotten papayas are embellished with this totally failed drink.

By far one of the worst whiskies of this year.
