Mon deuxième whisky dégusté chez le sympathique et généreux membre du whisky club “The Highlander’s” sera un Tamdhu 2006… acheté sur ce site il y a queques semaines seulement.
C’est avec curiosité que je découvre donc cette distillerie que je n’avais jusqu’à présent jamais goûté.
Un Tamdhu embouteillé par une entreprise néerlandaise – van Wees – plus connue sous son appellation “The Ultimate”. Jusqu’à présent, je n’ai jamais été déçu des choix de van Wees et cette version me confirmera la confiance que je porte dans cet embouteilleur pratiquant, encore, des prix acceptables sur le marché.
Ce Tamdhu de 9 ans titre tout de même à – tenez-vous bien – 65% !!! Autant dire que ça promet de l’ambiance dans la gorge.
Première surprise de taille, l’alcool est extrêmement bien intégré. Aucune sensation de brûlure dans la bouche. Une onctuosité digne des huiles d’olives les plus qualitatives. Son vieillissement en fût de sherry nous amène les traditionnels fruits des bois, l’orange et le caramel mais la finale sera, quant à elle, la seconde surprise avec des notes de sauges très prononcées combinant avec une belle viande saignante.
Une très belle découverte que ce whisky que je recommande vivement.

My second whisky tasted with the friendly and generous member of the whiske club “The Highlander’s” will be a 2006 Tamdhu… bought on this very site only a few weeks ago.
It is with high curiosity that I discover this distillery, which I had never tasted until now.
A Tamdhu bottled by the Dutch bottler – van Wees – better known as “The Ultimate”. So far, I have never been disappointed with van Wees’ choices and this version will confirm my confidence in this bottler still practicing acceptable prices on the market.
This 9 year old Tamdhu strength at – hold on tight – 65% !!! Suffice to say that it will be banging in the throat.
First major surprise, the alcohol is extremely well integrated. No burning sensation in the mouth. A smoothness worthy of the highest quality olive oils.
Its aging in sherry casks brings us the traditional forest berries, orange and caramel, but the finish will be the second surprise with very pronounced notes of sage combining with a beautiful rare meat.
A very nice discovery, indeed, that I highly recommend.
