Toujours dans ma petite séance apéritive avec mes comparses, je passe à la deuxième dégustation qui concerne ce Tomatin Water, une édition limitée à 6000 bouteilles. Un mix entre deux fûts, l’un de sherry, l’autre de bourbon.
Titrant à 46%, on espère avoir un bel équilibre entre puissance et douceur. Je dois dire que l’approche est sympathique, toute en rondeur, en douceur suave, l’orange, le miel et surtout le caramel nous caresse le palais laissant rapidement place au poivre noir qui nous pique la bouche puis…. rien.
Aucune finale, les saveurs disparaissent comme de l’eau. Un whisky qui porte effectivement bien son nom.

Still in my little aperitif session with my friends, I move on to the second tasting which concerns this Tomatin Water, a limited edition of 6,000 bottles.
A mix between two casks, one of sherry, the other of bourbon.
Containing 46%, we hope to have a nice balance between power and sweetness.
I must say that the approach is nice, all round, smooth sweetness, orange, honey and especially caramel caress our palate quickly giving way to black pepper which stings our mouths then…. nothing.
No finish, the flavors disappear like water. A whisky that does indeed live up to its name.
