DU RICE CRISPIES AU SUCRE – Score: 7,5/10

Cette version de Bladnoch est embouteillée par Gordon & MacPhail’s dans sa série Connoisseurs’ Choice. Ce distillat est l’un des derniers ayant été produit sous l’ère Diageo avant la mise en sommeil en 1993. C’est donc une rareté que nous avons là dans la bouteille.

J’ai eu l’occasion de goûter cette version dans ce qui était l’un de mes bars à whisky préféré en Suisse, le Kornhaus Keller de Bern (qui, malheureusement, a changé de propriétaire et a vu sa gamme de whisky se réduire comme peau de chagrin).

A vrai dire, ce n’est pas un whisky de légende mais il est agréable. Un malt doux (merci la triple distillation) avec quelques notes de miel, de sauge, de paille et d’agrumes.

Un malt authentiquement lowlands vintage. A déguster si vous en avez l’occasion mais ne sacrifiez pas votre bourse pour l’acheter si plus de 200€

This version of Bladnoch is bottled by Gordon & MacPhail’s in their Connoisseurs ’Choice series. This distillate is one of the last to be produced in the Diageo era before it was put to sleep in 1993. So it’s a rarity that we have there in the bottle.

I had the opportunity to taste this version at what was one of my favorite whisky bars in Switzerland, the Kornhaus Keller in Bern (which unfortunately changed owners and saw their whisky range drastically shrink).

To tell the truth, it is not a legendary whisky but it is pleasant. A smooth malt (thanks to the triple distillation) with some notes of honey, sage, straw and citrus.

Authentical vintage lowlands malt. To be tasted if you have the opportunity but do not sacrifice your purse to buy it if more than 200 €
