Dans la série des Lowlands, nous poursuivons la découverte des distilleries de cette région par un ancien embouteillage de chez Bladnoch.
Alors que se préparait l’un des plus grand boom dans l’histoire de l’industrie du whisky, en 2014, la distillerie Bladnoch était placée en liquidation par ses propriétaires nord-irlandais n’ayant pas senti le vent tourné.
Ce sont des investisseurs australiens qui eurent le nez creux et relancèrent l’activité seulement un an plus tard.
Cet ancien embouteillage datant des années 2000 est un vieillissement en fût de sherry pendant 11 années et titrant à 55%
Le sherry est plutôt sec en bouche donnant à ce whisky une robustesse en bouche et emportant un flot d’épices et de cannelle.
Le chocolat est omniprésent, garantissant une finale longue et présente un aspect carné sur les dernières notes.
Un profil qui, à l’aveugle, laisserait plutôt penser à un Glenfarclas ou un Aberlour A’Bunadh plutôt qu’à un Lowland.

In the Lowlands series, we continue the discovery of the distilleries of this region through an old bottling from Bladnoch.
As one of the biggest booms in the history of the whisky industry was brewing, in 2014 the Bladnoch Distillery was placed into liquidation by its Northern Irish owners who had not felt the tide.
It was Australian investors who took a nosedive and relaunched the activity only a year later.
This old bottling dating from the 2000s is aged in sherry casks for 11 years and grading at 55%
The sherry is rather dry on the palate giving this whisky a robustness in the mouth and carrying a flood of spices and cinnamon.
The chocolate is omnipresent, guaranteeing a long finish and presents a meaty aspect on the last notes.
A profile which, blindly, would rather suggest a Glenfarclas or an Aberlour A’Bunadh rather than a Lowland.
