LE WHISKY CHOCOLATE – Score: 8,5/10
Deuxième dégustation de Bladnoch chez l’un de mes vendeurs de whisky préféré en Belgique, j’ai nommé Paul Piron, à La Louvière.
Paul me fera découvrir ce merveilleux breuvage issue de la distillerie des Lowlands.
Attention, c’est du sérieux, et le prix avoisinant les 200€ le confirmeront. On attaque sur du très lourd en matière de sherry. On voit que Duncan Taylor, l’embouteilleur, a sélectionné un excellent fût pour cet embouteillage.
Les notes de fruits rouges sont bien présentes, pour tourner rapidement de l’espresso au cacao intense. Mais pas n’importe quel cacao, un bon chocolat noir suisse qui vous tapisse le palais sans pour autant vous assommer par son amertume. L’effet de la triple distillation aide en cela, permettant de conserver une certaine douceur en bouche.
La finale est … interminable. Digne des meilleurs Glendronach single cask ou de Glenfarclas.

Second tasting of Bladnoch at one of my favorite whisky vendors in Belgium, I named Paul Piron, in La Louvière.
Paul will make me discover this wonderful beverage from the Lowlands distillery.
Be careful, this is serious, and the price at around 200 € will confirm it. We start on very heavy sherry. We can taste that Duncan Taylor, the bottler, has selected an excellent cask for this bottling.
The notes of red fruits are present, to quickly turn from espresso to intense cocoa. But not just any cocoa, a good dark Swiss chocolate that lines your palate without overwhelming it with its bitterness. The effect of the triple distillation helps in this, allowing to retain some sweetness in the mouth.
The finish is… endless. Worthy of the best Glendronach single cask or Glenfarclas.
