Deuxième dégustation chez le membre du “Highlander’s” club et cette fois-ci nous passons sur l’île d’Islay et cette distillerie qui a su se faire un nom malgré sa complexité, je veux parler de Bunnahabhain.
Cette version est embouteillée par l’un des mes embouteilleurs favori, van Wees, fournissant régulièrement des malts de bonnes qualités à des prix démocratiques.
Ce Bunnah est vieilli en fût de Sherry de premier remplissage et titre (tenez-vous bien) à 68,9% soit le whisky le plus fort qu’il m’ait été donné de goûté.
Et je peux vous dire que c’est une belle petite pépite. Une fois passé le brûlant de l’alcool, les fruits rouges (cassis, fraises) s’imposent avec vigueur suivi de près par une belle dose d’iode. La finale est sur le cuir et le chocolat noir et se prolonge indéfiniment.
Encore une belle réussite pour van Wees et sa série “The Ultimate” à découvrir sans tarder.

This version is bottled by one of my favorite bottlers, van Wees, regularly supplying good quality malts at democratic prices.
This Bunnah is aged in a first fill Sherry cask and is grading (hold on tight) at 68.9%, which is the strongest whisky I have ever tasted.
And I can tell you, it’s a nice little nugget. Once the heat of the alcohol is over, the red fruits (blackcurrant, strawberries) impose themselves with vigor followed closely by a nice dose of iodine. The finish is on leather and dark chocolate and continues indefinitely.
Another great success for van Wees and his series “The Ultimate” to discover without delay.
