UN DESSERT ENIVRANT – Score: 8/10

english version below

A découvrir

AN ENHANCING DESSERT – Score: 8/10

Clynelish and her confusing two-step story. Being a young novice in the malt art, I couldn’t understand why 70s Clynelish were so expensive compared to today’s Clynelish.

It wasn’t until later that I realized that Clynelish and Clynelish are not the same distilleries. The firs one is the one we all know, still providing the most famous blends including Johnnie Walker or Compass Box to name a few, the other being the peaty version that became Brora (whose distillery is now closed).

This Clynelish is a version aged in sherry casks and reduced to 46% by Gordon & MacPhail’s for its “Connoisseur’s Choice” collection.

A whisky whose color rather suggests that the aging is in bourbon casks consiering its pale color. But the flavors do not lie as we find there the fruity of citrus fruits and plum, woody and a very light touch of vanilla. The finish being more grassy with dill and fresh mint.

A real gourmet dessert so easy to drink. To be discovered
