Comme chaque année, nous avons droit à l’invraisemblable classement annuel des sites et magazines nous classant de manière quasi systématique, des whisky maintstream dans le top des meilleurs whisky du monde.
Cette année ne dérogera pas à la règle avec un Dewar’s (oui oui, vous avez bien lu) 32 ans d’âge.
On nous refourgue un assemblage dont je rappelle la compostion : Aberfeldy, Craigellachie, Royal Brackla, Aultmore, Glendullan et beaucoup de whisky de grain.
Si ces distilleries avaient pour réputation d’être excellentes, nous le saurions depuis longtemps.
Mais là où l’on frise le ridicule, c’est le classement des single malts de l’année dont les trois premières places sont acquises par Ardbeg, avec comme première place le Corryvreckan.
Glenmorangie est d’ailleurs en excellente place également dans les classements de ce site.
Et à qui appartient, dîtes-moi, Ardbeg et Glenmorangie ? Bravo…. LVMH
Inutile de préciser donc qui finance ce genre de site et/ou le panels de dégustateurs.
Oublié les Bunnahabhain 1987 de chez Archives, les Highland Park 1991 de Signatory Vintage, oublié les Glenallachie ou Balvenie Sherry Casks, les Kilkerran 15 ans,….
Ce genre de classement n’est nullement représentatif de la qualité d’un produit mais uniquement un vecteur promotionnel de marques.
AND THE WHISKY OF THE YEAR 2020 IS…. (DON’T LAUGH)
As every year, we are entitled to the incredible annual ranking of websites and magazines ranking almost systematically, maintstream whiskies in the top of the best whisky of the world.
This year will be no exception with a Dewar’s (oh yes, you read that right) 32 years old.
We are given a blend of which I recall the composition: Aberfeldy, Craigellachie, Royal Brackla, Aultmore, Glendullan and a lot of grain whisky.
If these distilleries had a reputation for being excellent, we would have known for quite a while, by now.
But where it becomes ridiculous, it is the ranking of single malts of the year, the first three places of which are acquired by Ardbeg, with Corryvreckan being at the first place.
Glenmorangie is also very well in the rankings of this site.
And who owns, tell me, Ardbeg and Glenmorangie? Well done…. LVMH
No need to specify who is funding this kind of site and / or the panel of tasters.
