Aaaaah que je le l’attendais celui-ci. Ce Glendronach 1991 19 ans fût #3181 avec sa belle couleur acajou sombre. Depuis le temps que je désirais l’ouvrir celle-là. La tentation fini par me faire céder et j’y gouttais avec envie.
Le nez… quelle déception. Une odeur me rappelant un vieux fromage, un tonneau de sherry vide exposé aux intempéries, un fond de verre de vin médiocre. Pas très engageant tout cela. Mais bon, me dis-je, puisqu’il sent le vieux fromage, il aura peut-être la même caractéristique d’un vieux fromage : odeur repoussante, goût savoureux.
Las, le palais fut sur la droite ligne du nez : un sherry pâteux, de la vieille plasticine, du Monchéri dont la date de péremption serait dépasssée. Alors oui, une belle présence en bouche, il n’agresse pas le palais, il est onctueux. Mais pas de quoi casser trois pattes à un canard.
Grosse déception donc, je ne recommande pas

Aaaaah I was expecting this one. This Glendronach 1991 19 year old cask #3181 with its beautiful dark mahogany color. I long for this bottle for a while now. The temptation ended up making me give in and I tasted it with envy.
The nose, what a disappointment. A scent reminding me of old cheese, an empty sherry barrel exposed to the elements, a bottom of mediocre wine glass. Not very engaging at all. But hey, I said to myself, since it smells like old cheese, it might have the same characteristics of an old cheese: repulsive smell, savory taste.
Alas, the palate was in the straight line of the nose: a pasty sherry, old plasticine, Monchéri whose expiration date would have passed long time ago. Well, a nice presence in the mouth, it does not attack the palate, it is smooth. But it’s nothing to write home about.
Hence, a big disappointment therefore I do not recommend
