Deuxième soirée de dégustation avec le membre du whisky club “Highlander’s club” où cette fois ce sera une bouteille de Glenglassaugh 22 ans qui sera ouverte conjointement.
Un Glenglassaugh produit avant l’arrivée de Billy Walker dans la distillerie et embouteillé juste quelques années avant sa fermeture en 1986.
En le goûtant, on comprend pourquoi la distillerie n’a pas perdurée durant les années 80 vu la qualité fort relative de cette production.
Un malt à la texture fort aqueuse, aux notes de caramel et de bois bien trop prononcées. Peu de subtilité, sans pour autant être désagréable, ce whisky n’est pas emballant.
Leçon retenue pour le futur.

Second tasting evening with the member of the “Highlander’s club” whisky club where this time it will be a bottle of Glenglassaugh 22 years old which will be jointly opened.
A Glenglassaugh produced before Billy Walker’s arrival at the distillery and bottled just a few years before it closed in 1986.
By tasting it, we understand why the distillery did not last through the 1980s given the very relative quality of this production.
A malt with a very watery texture, with overly pronounced notes of caramel and wood. Little subtlety, without being unpleasant, this whisky is not exciting.
Lesson learned for the future.
