QUINTESSENCE DE LAPHROAIG – Score: 9,5/10

Ayant vidé ma bouteille de Glenturret 1987 hier soir, il me fallait une autre bouteille pour compenser le vide dans mon bar. C’est sur ce Laphroaig Lp6 de l’embouteilleur “Speciality Drinks” et sa série à succès “Elements of Islay” que j’ai jeté mon dévolu.

Une bouteille précédé d’une excellente réputation me rend curieux depuis quelques mois que je la possède.

On se fait plaisir donc ce soir et on fait sauter le bouchon de ce breuvage pour une satisfaction quasi instantanée.

Une bouche forte, onctueuse, où l’esprit Laphroaig vous accueille dès les premières gouttes. On retrouve ce côté herbeux, bois humide et médicinale typique de Laphroaig, suivi par des notes fruitières (pommes vertes, poires vertes,… ), du fumé bien présent enrobant un pain d’épice, se finissant indéfiniment sur la viande séchée voire le lard fumé.

Une excellente cuvée pour Speciality Drinks, que nous savourerons allègrement.

THE EPITOME OF LAPHROAIG – Score: 9.5 / 10

Having emptied my bottle of Glenturret 1987 last night, I needed another bottle to fill the gap in my bar. It’s on this Laphroaig Lp6 from the “Specialty Drinks” bottler and his hit series “Elements of Islay” that I have set my sights on.

A bottle preceded by an excellent reputation has made me curious for the past few months that I have owned it.

So let’s have fun tonight and we pop the cap of this beverage for almost instant satisfaction.

A strong, creamy palate, where the Laphroaig spirit welcomes you from the first drops. We find this grassy side, moist and medicinal wood typical of Laphroaig, followed by fruity notes (green apples, green pears, etc.), a very present smoke coating, a gingerbread, ending indefinitely on dried meat or even smoked bacon..

An excellent cuvée for Specialty Drinks, which we will enjoy happily.
