NOT TO BE IMBIBED IN THE PRESENCE OF A SMOKE DETECTOR – Score: 8/10
It’s peculiar, but as much as I am a Ledaig enthusiast, Tobermory leaves me indifferent, despite both hailing from the same distillery.
It’s a mystery I’ll need to unravel one day, perhaps by visiting the place one of these days.
In the meantime, here I am faced with this bottle of Ledaig, bottled by the famous Blackadder, who exclusively bottles cask strength.
Once again, a wild selection by this bottler, with a Ledaig generously smoked to perfection. The sugarcane warmly welcomes us, counterbalanced by the maritime iodine from the Isle of Mull, the birthplace of this libation.
This sweet-salty blend delights us, especially as the peat is splendid. If you’re a fan of ultra-smoky whiskies like myself, you’ll be in ecstasy. But beware of the firefighters if you drink it near a smoke detector
