Royal Brackla, fondée en 1812 appartient depuis 1998 à la société Bacardi. C’est le composant principal du fameux blend Dewar’s.
Ce soir, nous allons goûté l’entrée de gamme de Royal Brackla, son expression de 12 ans d’âge.
Le nez est plutôt chimique et laisse percevoir des arômes sucrés, mentholés, peu agréables.
La bouche ne sera pas des plus excitantes non plus avec cette entrée en matière doucereuse, révélant, si tant est qu’il le faille, l’ajout de caramel dans la coloration. La finale sera courte mais amère.
Inutile de vous précipiter dessus, pour le prix (autour de 40€), vous trouverez mieux.
Un whisky rappelant vaguement le Cragganmore 12 ans.

Tonight we’re going to sample the entry level Royal Brackla, its 12 year old expression.
The nose is rather chemical and lets perceive sweet, minty, unpleasant aromas.
The mouth will not be the most exciting either with this sweet entry, revealing, if at all necessary, the addition of caramel in the coloring. The finish will be short but bitter.
No need to rush on it, for the price (around 40 €), you will find better.
A whisky vaguely reminiscent of the 12 year old Cragganmore.
