UNE BELLE TARTE A LA BANANE – Score: 7/10
Dans la série de la distillerie Arran, voici une dégustation d’un échantillon offert – à l’époque – par le revendeur whiskybase. J’ai donc eu l’occasion de déguster un Arran embouteillé par l’embouteilleur allemand Alambic Classique
Sans perdre de temps, nous attaquons ce breuvage vieilli en fût de sherry. Vu la clarté de sa robe, soit c’est un finish, soit un refill car 20 ans dans un fût de sherry et ne pas devenir noir comme la cendre, cela semble étrange.
Le palais est en accord avec le nez soit une belle présence de fruits, principalement la banane et saupoudrée de vanille. On est sur un malt très pâtissier, où la crème brûlée est présente avec une légère note de fraise. L’orge maltée se retrouve en finale pour la conclusion de cette dégustation.
Un whisky fort agréable même si le tout est constamment enrobé de caramel, ce qui rend ce whisky un poil trop sucré à mon goût.
A découvrir pour ceux qui apprécient ce genre de whisky.

In the Arran Distillery series, here is a tasting of a sample offered – at the time – by the whiskybase retailer. So I had the opportunity to taste an Arran bottled by the German bottler Alambic Classique
Without wasting any time, we tackle this drink aged in sherry casks. Considering the clarity of her dress, either it’s a finish or a refill because 20 years in a sherry cask and not turning black as ash, it seems to me a bit strange.
The palate agrees with the nose, with a nice presence of fruit, mainly banana and sprinkled with vanilla. We are on a very pastry malt, where crème brûlée is present with a slight note of strawberry. The malted barley is to be found in the finish for the conclusion of this tasting.
A very pleasant whisky even if it is constantly coated with caramel, which makes this whisky a bit too sweet for my taste.
To be discovered for those who appreciate this kind of whisky.
