UN TOSHAN FAISANT LE JOB – Score: 6/10
Après une série de Auchentoshan embouteillée par des indépendants, nous revenons à une production de la distillerie.
Auchentoshan American Oak, comme son nom l’indique, est un vieillissement en fût de chêne américain.
Au nez, les notes de vanille sautent immédiatement, en bouche, plus légèrement. On est sur un vrai lowland classique tout en douceur, pas d’agressivité éthylique, quelques notes fruités, tout en légèreté. Le gros désavantage, c’est qu’il passe vite, comme de l’eau. Pas de finale, des saveurs trop légères, manquant de corps.
Un whisky pour novice, en apéritif uniquement.

After a series of Auchentoshan bottled by independent bottlers, we return to a production of the distillery.
Auchentoshan American Oak, as the name suggests, is aging in American oak barrels.
On the nose, the vanilla notes jump immediately, in the mouth, more lightly. We are on a real classic lowland very smooth, no ethyl aggressiveness, some fruity notes, all lightness. The big disadvantage is that it passes quickly, like water. No finish, too light flavors, lacking in body.
A whisky for novices, as an aperitif only.
