UN BOWMORE EXOTIQUE – Score: 8/10
La collection “The Unchillfiltered” the Signatory Vintage est extrêmement large et variée. On y trouve souvent de piètres whisky mais parfois, dans le lot, se trouvent d’excellents breuvages.
C’est le cas de ce Bowmore 2000 issu d’un fût de bourbon où il y passa 16 ans (et 6 mois pour être précis)
L’onctuosité du palais s’impose où la rondeur du whisky enveloppe la bouche de son onction maltée. On y perçoit d’entrée de jeu une belle note de fruits d’ailleurs (kiwi, papaye), le tout submergé par une fumée de tourbe aux saveurs jambonnées. La finale se boise lentement, adoucie par la vanille bourbon.
On ne peut que regretter la finale un tant soit peu trop courte mais le whisky est une belle réussite.
Par contre, le prix de cette version me semble tout de même exagéré sur le marché (comptez entre 200€ et 225€)

The Signatory Vintage collection “The Unchillfiltered” is extremely large and varied. You often find poor whisky here, but sometimes there are some great drinks in the mix.
This is the case with this Bowmore 2000 from a bourbon cask where it rest for 16 years (and 6 months to be precise)
The smoothness of the palate asserts itself where the roundness of the whisky wrap-up the mouth with its malty anointing. From the outset, we perceive a nice note of fruit from elsewhere (kiwi, papaya), all overwhelmed by peat smoke with ham flavors. The finish is slowly oaky, softened by bourbon vanilla.
We can only regret the slightly too short finish but the whisky is a great success.
On the other hand, the price of this version seems to me a bit overpriced (count between 200 € and 225 €)
