Nous poursuivons cette série de Bowmore par une autre version de l’année 2000 et ce Hogshead #0222 embouteillé par The Cooper’s Choice.
Chez Cooper’s Choice, à l’instar de Signatory Vintage ou Gordon & MacPhail’s on a l’impression qu’ils raflent tout les fûts possibles à moindre prix pour produire du volume au détriment de la qualité. Tandis que SV ou GM ont les moyens financiers pour également s’offrir des fûts plus exceptionnels, Cooper’s Choice se contentent encore des fûts de seconds voire troisième choix.
Mais parfois, il y a de bonnes surprises. Et ce Bowmore, sans être exceptionnel, en est une.
Un palais très fruité, passant de la pomme-cannelle à la poire-vanille, le tout aspergé de fumée iodée typique de Bowmore, avec ce coté salin qui tapisse la bouche.
Une finale moyennement longue et un côté épicé un poil trop marqué mettent un bémol à la dégustation.

We continue this Bowmore series with another version from the year 2000 and this Hogshead #0222 bottled by The Cooper’s Choice.
At Cooper’s Choice, like Signatory Vintage or Gordon & MacPhail’s, we get the impression that they are grabbing all the casks they can afford at low cost to produce volume regardless of quality. While SV or GM have the financial means to also afford more exceptional casks, Cooper’s Choice are still content with second or third choice casks.
But sometimes there are good surprises. And this Bowmore, without being exceptional, is one of them.
A very fruity palate, ranging from apple-cinnamon to pear-vanilla, all sprinkled with the iodine smoke typical of Bowmore, with that salty side that lines the mouth.
A moderately long finish and a slightly too spicy side put a damper on the tasting.
