BUNNAH OU ES-TU ? – Score: 2,5/10

De passage à l’hôtel Westminster, dans la charmante petite ville du Touquet – tristement célèbre pour abriter la demeure d’une épouse de dictateur – je prends le temps de regarder la carte des whiskies.

Il est proposé quelques sélections de Signatory Vintage – The Unchillfiltered Collection. Pas la plus brillante des séries mais bon, j’y ai goûté des drams sympathiques donc allons-y pour l’essai.

Mon regard se dirige sur trois bouteilles dont ce Bunnahabhain 2011 vieilli 6 ans durant dans un Hogshead.

Première impression, l’alcool est doux…. très doux…. trop doux…. bien. On attend la suite avec impatience… Mais elle ne viendra pas. Ou alors était-ce ça cette vague saveur fumée à moins que cela ne soit la cigarette du voisin à la terrasse ?

Je ne le saurai jamais. Piètre whisky.

While at the Hotel Westminster, in the charming little town of Le Touquet – notorious for being home to the mansion of a dictator’s wife – I take the time to look at the whisky menu.

There are a few selections from Signatory Vintage – The Unchillfiltered Collection. Not the brightest of the series but hey, I tasted some cool dram from it so let’s give it a try.

My gaze goes to three bottles including this Bunnahabhain 2011 aged 6 years in a Hogshead.

First impression, the alcohol is soft…. very soft…. too soft…. well. We are impatiently awaiting the rest … But it will never come. Or was it that vague smoky flavor, or was it the neighbor’s cigarette on the terrace?

I will never know. Poor whisky.
