Suite à la dégustation du Glenlivet 15 ans, j’ai souhaité testé un Glenlivet d’un embouteilleur indépendant, et Signatory Vintage est sans doute l’embouteilleur indépendant ayant le plus gros stock de fût de Glenlivet du marché.
C’est un fût de sherry qui sera au menu ce soir, réduit à 46% d’alcool (avec succès me semble-t-il), conférant à cette version une belle douceur et permettant au goûteur d’en apprécier tous les arômes.
Justement, ceux-ci s’expriment pleinement sur des notes caractéristiques de caramel, de raisin sec et d’une légère touche poivrée compensée par une douceur mielleuse.
La finale est moyenne et épicée (cannelle principalement). Un whisky dont le rapport qualité/prix est avantageux et démontre encore une fois que Glenlivet peut produire des whiskies de qualité si seulement la politique de la distillerie était moins tournée vers la quantité.

After tasting the 15-year-old Glenlivet, I wanted to try a Glenlivet from an independent bottler, and Signatory Vintage is undoubtedly the independent bottler with the largest stock of Glenlivet casks on the market.
It’s a sherry cask that will be on the menu tonight, reduced to 46% alcohol (successfully according to me), giving this version a nice sweetness and allowing the taster to appreciate the full aromas. .
Precisely, these are fully expressed on typical notes of caramel, sultana and a slight peppery touch offset by a honeyed sweetness.
The finish is medium and spicy (mainly cinnamon). A whisky whose quality/price ratio is advantageous and demonstrates once again that Glenlivet can produce quality whiskies if only the distillery’s policy was less focused on quantity.
