Reprise des dégustations de single malt suite à cette série sur les blends de Compass Box.
Pour ce retour, mon choix se porte sur le Glenrothes 1998 et embouteillé en 2012.
Cette bouteille sera partagée entre amis, afin de découvrir ensemble ce cru d’une distillerie peu connue du grand public mais ayant son petit fan club.
La dégustation sera mitigée. Pour ma part, un peu déçu de cette version qui laisse transparaître un côté boisé peu agréable. Beaucoup d’astringence, une texture trop aqueuse, une saveur de paille et surtout, un goût de bouchon de liège en finale ternisse grandement un whisky plutôt passe-partout.
A boire à l’apéritif en mangeant du saucisson pour marier les saveurs.

For this return, my choice is the Glenrothes 1998 bottled in 2012.
This bottle will be shared with friends, in order to discover together this vintage from a distillery little known to the general public but having its little fan club.
The tasting will be mixed. For my part, a little disappointed with this version which reveals an unpleasant woody side. Lots of astringency, a too watery texture, a straw flavor and above all, a cork stopper taste on the finish greatly tarnishes a rather versatile whisky.
To drink as an aperitif while eating sausage to combine the flavors.
