Highland Park 2003 15 years – cask #041

CASSE-NOISETTE – Score: 7,5/10

english version below

NUTCRACKER – Score: 7.5 / 10

Fourth and penultimate tasting of the Highland Park series with this bottling from the German Jack Wieber’s Whisky World, famous for these collector series.

In the small world of independent bottlers, there are those who produce en masse (Murray McDavid, van Wees, Douglas Laing, Cooper’s Choice, etc.) and then there are those who adopt a more “collector” model (Samaroli, Sansibar, Silver Seal,….) And Jack Wieber is part of this second category.

This Highland Park 2003 grading at 51.1% is part of the Great Oceans Liner series.

Of the four tasted, it is the one with the best ethyl balance (although it is not perfect yet). The creamy side sets in first, lining the palate with a lemon zest then comes white pepper followed by the traditional Orkney smoke.

The finish will be woody and reveal some notes of toasted hazelnuts.

A pleasant whisky to serve at the end of a meal.
