Poursuivant ma lancée sur Campbeltown, je passe par Springbank et sa marque aux profils tourbés qu’est Longrow.
L’appellation “Longrow” est un hommage à une distillerie qui jouxtait jadis Springbank. A présent, c’est l’une des trois marques produites par la distillerie avec Hazelburn.
Démarrons en douceur avec cet entrée de gamme qu’est le Longrow Peated. Comme à son habitude, Springbank nous livre des versions toujours légèrement différentes d’année en année.
Celle-ci est la version 2022 de Longrow Peated et annoncée par Springbank comme “riche et onctueuse”.
La texture est en effet huileuse mais d’une huile de supermarché. La vanille est présente parfumée de pétales de roses faisant place à une tourbe boisée et légèrement cendrée.
C’est un whisky tout à fait agréable sans prétention et en accord avec le prix demandé (environ 50€)

Continuing my momentum on Campbeltown, I pass by Springbank and its brand with peaty profiles that is Longrow.
The name “Longrow” is a tribute to a distillery that once adjoined Springbank. Now it is one of three brands produced by the distillery along with Hazelburn.
Let’s start gently with this entry-level Longrow Peated. As usual, Springbank always gives us slightly different versions from year to year.
This is the 2022 version of Longrow Peated and announced by Springbank as “rich and unctuous”.
The texture is indeed oily but of a supermarket oil. Vanilla is present scented with rose petals giving way to a woody and slightly ashy peat.
It is a very pleasant whisky without pretension and in accordance with the asking price (around 50€)
