RIEN NE VAUT LES BLENDS ANCIENS – Score: 7/10
Accoudé au bar de mon cercle philosophique, je repère entre un William Lawson et un Famous Grouse, une bouteille peu familière et à l’aspect vintage. Demandant à l’irascible barman sicilien de me l’approcher afin que je l’inspecte de plus près, je découvre cette bouteille de Tayside 12 ans
Grand aventurier devant l’éternel, je décide de goûter et, ô surprise, ce whisky est très agréable. Une belle balance entre le céréalier du malt, la douceur du grain et une légère tourbe finale persistante.
Arrivé chez moi, j’ai fait quelques recherches sur ce vieux Tayside et il apparaît que la base en est le Bruichladdich (avant la reprise) d’où cette agréable petite tourbe.
Un blend très agréable, peu onéreux qui m’a bien plus.

Leaning on the bar of my philosophical society, I spot between a William Lawson and a Famous Grouse, an unfamiliar bottle with a vintage look & feel. Asking the irascible Sicilian bartender to bring it closer to me so that I can take a better look, I discover this bottle of Tayside 12 years old
Great adventurer before the Lord, I decide to taste and, oh surprise, this whisky is very pleasant. A nice balance between the cereal malt, the sweetness of the grain and a slight lingering final peat.
When I got home, I did some research on this old Tayside and it turns out that the basis is Bruichladdich (before the rerun) hence this nice little peat.
A very pleasant, inexpensive blend that pleased me a lot.
