VÉRITABLE MALT WHISKY – Score: 7/10
Arran nous offre une version brut de fût (titrant à 55,7%) d’un whisky vieilli dans un Quarter Cask (plus petit) et donc offrant un concentré d’arôme au distillat.
Son nom est The Bothy, en référance à ces refuges disséminés un peu partout dans les Highlands d’Ecosse, permettant aux voyageurs d’y trouver repos et gîte.
Pour les amoureux et inconditionnels de malt nature (c’est à dire sans finish particulier), je pense que nous avons ici un parfait exemple. Un whisky très céréalier, une belle note de houblon malté, de fruits secs tels que la noisette, l’amande, la noix fraîche. Une touche d’ananas et de vanille (très légère) complète le palais avant que le chêne ne prenne le dessus pour finaliser sur une légère amertume.
Un whisky qui possède un excellent rapport qualité/prix pour les amateurs.

Its name is The Bothy, in reference to these refuges scattered all over the Scottish Highlands, allowing travelers to find rest and lodging there.
For lovers and fans of plain malt (meaning without a particular finish), I think we have a perfect example here. A very cereal whisky, a nice note of malted hops, dried fruits such as hazelnuts, almonds, fresh walnuts. A touch of pineapple and vanilla (very light) completes the palate before the oak takes over to finish on a slight bitterness.
A whisky that has an excellent value for money for amateurs.
