Il est des whisky dont on aurait préféré ne pas avoir à goûter et cet opus de l’embouteilleur écossais Duncan Taylor de la distillerie Aultmore en fait partie.

Malheureusement, c’est le deuxième Aultmore de rang à me décevoir grandement, ce qui, évidemment, ne m’encouragera pas à en acheter d’autre, même si l’occasion se présente d’en goûter, je le ferai par acquis de conscience.

C’est un whisky âcre, archi-dominé par l’amertume du chêne neuf, où les maigres saveurs initiales de vanille et de crème pâtissière sont totalement évanescente et dont les notes orangées, agrumes et mielleuse de la finale sont écrasées par l’astringence de ce whisky totalement raté.

Je ne peux que vous conseiller de refuser poliment ce whisky si d’aventure on vous le propose.

Unfortunately this is the second Aultmore in a row to disappoint me greatly, which obviously will not encourage me to buy another one, even if the opportunity presents itself to taste some, I will do it for the sake of impartiality.

It is a pungent whisky, dominated by the bitterness of new oak, where the meager initial flavors of vanilla and pastry cream are totally evanescent and whose orange, citrus and honeyed notes of the finish are crushed by astringency. of this totally failed whisky.

I can only advise you to politely decline this whisky if someone offers it to you.
