Plusieurs dégustations vont suivre dans ce lieu enchanteur de Paris qu’est le Golden Promise de la rue Tiquetonne.
Après une première dégustation mitigée, mon choix se porte sur une série légendaire de l’embouteilleur Signatory Vintage nommée The Prestonfield en référence au célèbre hôtel d’Edimbourg.
Ce sera donc un Bowmore 1990 de 20 ans d’âge vieilli dans un fût de chêne neuf et titrant à un respectable 50,7%
L’exotisme de ce whisky est évident dès les premières notes fruitées et patissière. On pourrait croire être dans une de ces célèbres pâtisseries parisiennes si la tourbe n’était pas aussi marquée.
La tourbe, parlons-en : elle est tout simplement divine. Typique de ce que Bowmore peut offrir de mieux avec son iode inimitable. La vanille est également présente et nous accompagnera tout au long de la finale crêmeuse.
Un véritable délice qui m’encourage à poursuivre mes expériences de la série Prestonfield.

Several tastings will follow in this enchanting place in Paris that is the Golden Promise on rue Tiquetonne.
After a mixed first tasting, my choice fell on a legendary series from the Signatory Vintage bottler named The Prestonfield in reference to the famous Edinburgh hotel.
It will therefore be a 20-year-old Bowmore 1990 aged in a new oak hogshead and grading at a respectable 50.7%.
The exoticism of this whisky is obvious from the first fruity and pastry notes. It feels like you were in one of those famous Parisian patisseries if the peat were not so marked.
Peat, let’s talk about it: it is simply divine. Typical of the best Bowmore has to offer with its inimitable iodine. Vanilla is also present and will accompany us throughout the creamy finish.
A real delight that encourages me to continue my experiences of the Prestonfield series.
