Toujours lové dans la cave du Golden Promise, je tourne mon regard vers la légion de Laphroaig qui figure sur le mur de gauche en faisant face au bar.
Un choix devra être fait malgrè la complexité du dilemme. J’opterai finalement pour une curiosité, un Laphroaig de 12 ans d’âge vieilli en fût de Sherry Oloroso.
Cette bouteille distribuée dans les années 2000 dans les duty free du monde entier pour quelques dizaines d’euros en vaut à présent plus de mille suite à une spéculation intensive.
Alors c’est avec un portefeuille plus léger que je vais prendre un verre de cet intriguant Laphroaig.
La texture est onctueuse, comme je l’aime, ce qui démontre déjà un excellent travail de distillation. La suite est toute aussi sympathique avec des notes de fraises, de noisettes grillées. Viennent ensuite les typiques saveurs herbeuses et médicinales de Laphroaig persistantes jusqu’à la finale tournant sur la réglisse.
C’est un profil relativement classique que l’on retrouve régulièrement chez Laphroaig mais à chaque fois avec une nuance.
Les amateurs de Laphroaig ne seront pas dèçus.

Still curled up in the cellar of the Golden Promise, I turn my gaze to the legion of Laphroaig which appears on the left wall facing the bar.
A choice will have to be made despite the complexity of the dilemma. I will finally opt for an oddity, a 12-year-old Laphroaig aged in Oloroso Sherry casks.
This bottle distributed in the 2000s in duty free around the world for a few tens of euros is now worth more than a thousand following intensive speculation.
So it is with a lighter wallet that I will take a glass of this intriguing Laphroaig.
The texture is unctuous, as I like it, which already demonstrates an excellent work of distillation. The sequel is just as nice with notes of strawberries and grilled hazelnuts. Then come the typical grassy and medicinal flavors of Laphroaig that persist until the finish turns on licorice.
It is a relatively classic profile that we regularly find at Laphroaig but each time with a nuance.
Laphroaig lovers will not be disappointed.
