Y A DU SOLEIL DANS CE WHISKY – Score: 9/10
Bruichladdich nous gratifie d’une cuvée spéciale célébrant la région homonyme – Islay – située sur la côte du Pérou. Une version de 50cl pour un distillat vieilli en fût de sherry pendant près de 19 ans.
Le fût utilisé est le #1184 nous ayant fourni en tout 375 bouteilles titrant à 58,5%
Tout un programme donc que j’ai hâte de découvrir, d’autant que je sors d’une série d’un spécialiste du sherry cask à savoir Glenfarclas. Voyons donc si Bruichladdich supportera la comparaison.
Le nez nous révèle déjà que c’est un non tourbé, il semble même très doux avec ses notes de gâteau aux fruits confis.
Son palais est tout aussi délicat, plein de fruits rouges, de fève de cacao et de cuir. Une parfaite balance éthylique et un chêne goûteux sans être astringent.
La finale est longue et plaisante conservant les notes initiales en toile de fond.
Un excellent whisky qui surpasse clairement la série de Glenfarclas bue précédemment.

Bruichladdich presents us with a special cuvée celebrating the homonymous region – Islay – located on the coast of Peru. A 50cl version for a distillate aged in sherry casks for nearly 19 years.
The cask used is #1184 which provided us with a total of 375 bottles titrating 58.5%
So quite a program that I can’t wait to discover, especially as I come out of a series from a specialist in sherry cask namely Glenfarclas. So let’s see if Bruichladdich will stand the comparison.
The nose already reveals that it is unpeated, it even seems very sweet with its notes of candied fruit cake.
Its palate is just as delicate, full of red fruits, cocoa bean and leather. A perfect balance of ethyl and a tasty oak without being astringent.
The finish is long and pleasant, retaining the initial notes in the background.
An excellent whisky which clearly surpasses the Glenfarclas series previously tasted.
