TROP DE TANIN, TROP DE BOIS – Score: 4,5/10
Il fallait que cela arrive un jour et ce jour est arrivé. J’ai trouvé un Bruichladdich peu à mon goût.
Pourtant, je ne m’y attendais pas sur celui-ci. Une bouteille dont le liquide a passé 10 ans dans un fût d’Oloroso de premier remplissage, une belle couleur ambrée, un prix…. extravagant, tout pour me faire rêver d’un sublime mélange tourbe/sherry.
Hélas, rien de tout cela. Un équilibre précaire, une tourbe mordante, un tanin écœurant, des fruits secs trop discrets et une amertume finale omniprésente.
Non, décidément, cette version n’est pas franchement une réussite.

It had to happen someday, and that day has come. I found a Bruichladdich not filling my taste.
Still, I didn’t expect it on this one. A bottle whose liquid has spent 10 years in a first fill Oloroso cask, a beautiful amber color, an extravagant price, everything to make me dream of a sublime peat / sherry blend.
Alas, none of this. A precarious balance, a biting peat, a queasy tanin, overly discreet dried fruits and an omnipresent final bitterness.
No, definitely, this version is not really a success.
