UN TANIN TROP PRESENT – Score: 7/10
Retour sur ma dégustation de Bruichladdich avec cette version collector de la série Links répertoriant 12 bouteilles, chacune représentant un parcours de golf (un peu comme ce qu’avait fait Glenlivet dans les années 80 avec sa série “Classic of Golf Courses of Scotland”)
Celui-ci est la version 8 représentant Torrey Pines aux Etats-Unis. Un batch de 15 ans fini en fût de Château Latour.
La tourbe est absente de ce whisky, tout est dans le fruité avec des notes de melon, de cerises roses, de bois humides. L’amertume arrive plutôt rapidement laissant une finale très poivrée, tannique, astringente.
Le tout est bien équilibré seule la finale est peu plaisante.

Follow-up on my tasting of Bruichladdich with this collector’s version of the Links series listing 12 bottles, each representing a golf course (a bit like what Glenlivet did in the 80s with its “Classic of Golf Courses of Scotland” series)
This is version 8 representing Torrey Pines in the United States. A 15-year-old batch finished in Château Latour cask.
Peat is absent from this whisky, everything is fruity with notes of melon, pink cherries, damp woods. The bitterness comes on rather quickly, leaving a very peppery, tannic, astringent finish.
Everything is well balanced, only the finish is not very pleasant.
