UN OCTOMORE SANS TOURBE – Score: 7/10
Enfin ! Depuis le temps que j’espérais pouvoir goûter l’une de ces licornes qui agite la sphère du malt, voici que l’un des membres de notre club me donne cette opportunité.
Me voici donc face à la fameuse bouteille toute de noir vêtue, arborant d’ésotériques symboles kabalistiques.
Il m’avait été déjà donné de goûter la version 05.1 de Black Art mais il est murmuré que la 04.1 serait la meilleure de toutes.
Je vais donc immédiatement expérimenté cela en espérant que mon palais puisse l’apprécier à sa juste valeur.
Dès la prise en bouche, on sent que c’est du costaud en terme d’équilibre, l’alcool est parfaitement intégré.
Les notes de bois brûlé, de cendre, de fumée s’impose dès les premières secondes, rappelant le profil d’Octomore mais sans la tourbe. Quelques cerises noires également agrémenteront le parcours du palais au gosier le tout dans une coquille de douceur onctueuse.
C’est bon, c’est bien fait mais quitte à boire ce genre de profil, autant boire Octomore dont la tourbe ici manque cruellement.
AN OCTOMORE WITHOUT PEAT – Score: 7/10
Finally ! Since the time that I hoped to be able to taste one of these unicorns who agitates the sphere of malt, one of the members of our club gives me this opportunity.
So here I am facing the famous bottle dressed in black, sporting esoteric kabalistic symbols.
I had already the occasion to taste the 05.1 version of Black Art but it is whispered that 04.1 would be the best of all.
So I will immediately experience this hoping that my palate can appreciate it at its fair value.
As soon as it is taken in the mouth, we feel that it is strong in terms of balance, alcohol is perfectly integrated.
The notes of burned wood, ash, smoke is essential from the first seconds, recalling the profile of Octomore but without peat. A few black cherries will also enhance the course from the palate towards the throat all in a creamy sweetness.
It’s good, it’s well done but if it means drinking this kind of profile, as much to drink octomore whose peat here is sorely lacking.
