Macallan multiplie les sorties marketing ces dernières années ayant compris l’esprit collector de leur clientèle.
Après les Macallan Edition, les 1824 Series, les Classic Cut, les Concept, les Rare Casks, les Quest Collection, voici une nouvelle série appelée Harmony Collection comprenant actuellement Smooth Arabica, Rich Cocoa and ce Intense Arabica.
Censés nous apporter les arômes de café et cacao, nul doute que nous sommes sur des fûts de sherry.
Le palais est toujours aussi aqueux que les autres Macallan donnant toujous une impression de blend bas de gamme. Cette impression est renforcée par le désagréable goût de miel industriel et de mélasse qui se manifeste dans les premières secondes.
Il faut patienter pour voir enfin un peu de caractère noble se dégager avec les notes de moka et de chêne pour vous accompagner dans une finale moyennement persistante.
Décidément, les embouteillages actuels de Macallan sont plus valorisant fermés qu’ouverts.

After the Macallan Edition, the 1824 Series, the Classic Cut, the Concept, the Rare Casks, and the Quest Collection, here comes a new series called the Harmony Collection, currently comprising of the Smooth Arabica, Rich Cocoa, and Intense Arabica expressions.
These whiskies are supposed to bring us coffee and cocoa aromas, and there is no doubt that they have been matured in sherry casks.
The palate is still as watery as other Macallan bottlings, giving off an impression of a low-end blend. This impression is reinforced by the unpleasant taste of industrial honey and molasses that manifests in the first few seconds.
You need to be patient to finally get some noble character emerging with the notes of mocha and oak, accompanying you in a moderately persistent finish.
Macallan’s current bottlings are definitely more rewarding when they are closed than when they are opened.
