Glen Elgin est une sympathique bourgade écossaise au nord des Highlands dans le Moray.
Une distillerie fournissant principalement son malt à l’élaboration du blend White Horse (avec notamment Linkwood et Lagavulin) mais dont le récent boom du whisky a relancé la production de single malt.
Ce Glen Elgin est embouteillé par l’indépendant Elixir Distillers pour sa gamme “The Single Malts of Scotland”, créée en 2002 par les frères Singh, créateurs, notamment, du célèbre site de vente The Whisky Exchange et la boutique du même nom à Londres.
Un Glen Elgin, donc, distillé en 1995 et vieilli en Hogshead pendant 21 longues années. Le résultat est très correct sans être exceptionnel.
Un nez en accord avec le palais où les notes de pommes vertes, de poires et d’amandes douces s’allient parfaitement avec le malt et la vanille. Une belle combinaison douce en alcool pour son titrage de 54,2% qui le rend agréable au palais.
Un rapport qualité/prix acceptable (sachant qu’il tourne aux alentours de 120€)

Glen Elgin is a friendly Scottish town in the north of the Highlands in Moray.
A distillery that mainly supplies its malt for the production of the White Horse blend (notably with Linkwood and Lagavulin) but whose recent whisky boom has revived the production of single malt.
This Glen Elgin is bottled by the independent Elixir Distillers for its “The Single Malts of Scotland” range, created in 2002 by the Singh brothers, creators, in particular, of the famous sales site The Whisky Exchange and the store of the same name in London. .
A Glen Elgin, therefore, distilled in 1995 and aged in Hogshead for 21 long years. The result is very correct without being exceptional.
A nose in keeping with the palate, where notes of green apples, pears and sweet almonds combine perfectly with malt and vanilla. A nice sweet combination in alcohol for its 54.2% titration which makes it pleasant on the palate.
An acceptable value for money ratio (knowing that it runs around 120 €)
