Connaissez-vous l’embouteilleur James Eadie ? Cet embouteilleur écossais établi en 2016 a repris le nom d’un vieux blend de la fin du XIXème siècle dont le fondateur était l’ancêtre du propriétaire actuel.
A force de marketing, cet embouteilleur est actuellement de plus en plus présent dans les boutiques d’Europe.
J’ai donc eu la chance de goûter l’un des embouteillages d’un Glen Elgin 2010 de 9 ans d’âge en fût de bourbon et Hogshead de second remplissage.
Le résultat est plutôt décevant : une petite mise en bouche florale et fruitière, principalement sur la pomme verte puis vient très (trop) rapidement ce qu’il s’avère être la finale très boisée et amère comme si vous mangiez la pomme et sa branche dans la foulée.
Premier essai peu concluant.
