Retour sur une distillerie qui me fait du bien car elle est encore fort peu prisée par les spéculateurs de tout poil et nous permet donc de savourer de bons malt sans se ruiner.
Glenallachie, comme tout le monde le sait à présent, est géree par Billy Walker, le magicien de Glendronach ayant donner ses lettres de noblesse à cette distillerie.
Nul doute que Glenallachie suivra tant ces whisky sont d’une exceptionnelle réalisation.
Venons-en au fait avec cette édition 2009 de 11 ans d’âge et vieillie en fût de Pedro Ximenez et titrant à un acceptable 56,8%.
La texture est constante dans son onctuosité et ses saveurs sont richissimes. Néanmoins, on se perd dans ce dédale gustatif mêlant le chocolat amer, le caramel fondant, l’écorce amère, le poivre noir… On passe de l’un à l’autre sans jamais réellement savouré ce qui est plutôt perturbant.
Cela reste, cela va sans dire, une belle réalisation mais un peu trop confuse à mon goût.

Let’s get to the point with this 2009 edition of 11 years old and aged in Pedro Ximenez barrels and grading at an acceptable 56.8%.
The texture is constant in its smoothness and its flavors are extremely rich. Nevertheless, we get lost in this taste maze mixing bitter chocolate, melting caramel, bitter bark, black pepper… We go from one to the other without ever really savoring which is rather disturbing.
It remains, it goes without saying, a fine achievement but a little too confusing for my taste.
