UN GLENDRO DE GILET JAUNE – Score: 6,5/10

Ayant entamé une série de Glendronach suite à l’échange de quelques bouteilles contre des échantillons, je démarre cette série avec ce Glendronach Single Cask qui, une fois n’est pas coutume, est vieilli en fût de bourbon.

Et, effectivement, au nez, nous retrouvons cette douceur odeur vanillée typique. Le breuvage étant jeune, on frôle les 60 degrés d’alcool (59,7% exactement) et on les sent bien. Une attaque hyper poivrée digne d’une GL-FI4 dans une manifestation gilet jaune.

Et c’est vraiment le gros défaut de ce whisky qui n’arrive pas à s’élever au-dessus de son esprit éthylique. Résultat des courses : un malt galvaudé, manquant de subtilité, très accrocheur. Dommage, on sent derrière tout cela un potentiel gustatif fait de caramel, de chocolat au lait.

Vu le prix exorbitant des Glendro Single Cask, c’est fort dommageable et rédhibitoire à l’achat.

Bien fait de l’avoir en échantillon celui-ci

Having started a series of Glendronach following the exchange of a few bottles for samples, I start this serie with this Glendronach Single Cask which is aged in bourbon casks (one swallow does not make a summer).

And, indeed, on the nose, we find this typical sweet vanilla scent. The beverage being young, we are close to 60 degrees of alcohol (59.7% exactly) and we can smell them well. A hyper peppery attack worthy of a CS pepper spray in a BLM protest.

And this is really the big flaw of this whisky which fails to rise above its ethyl spirit. As a result, an overused malt, lacking in subtlety, very catchy.

Too bad, as below all of this, we feel a potential made of caramel, milk chocolate.

Considering the exorbitant price of Glendro Single Casks, this is very damaging and prohibitive to buy.
