Vous connaissez, pour ceux qui me lisent régulièrement, ma curiosité pour les anciens embouteillages et particulièrement pour les anciens blends.
C’est toujours un moment émouvant d’ouvrir ces vieux flacons aux formes typiques de l’époque, aux étiquettes passées, imaginant le nombre de mains l’ayant eu en main, les personnes ayant produit, embouteillé et vendu cette bouteille.
Bref, toute une histoire se cache dans ces flacons et c’est elle que nous goûtons avec cet alcool.
Ce jour, j’ai eu l’occasion, avec l’un de mes amis, de goûter cet Highland Clan datant des années 1980.
Un palais très doux, on sent l’influence d’un grain de qualité. La vanille et le miel apparaissent très rapidement dans le boisé léger, épicés.
La finale est longue pour un blend, conservant cette très légère amertume légèrement fumée.
Pas déplaisant même si l’on sent une petite dose de caramel ajouté dans le mélange.

In short, there is a whole story hidden in these bottles and it is what we taste with this alcohol.
That day, I had the opportunity, along with a friend of mine, to taste this Highland Clan from the 1980s.
A very smooth palate, one feels the influence of a quality grain. Vanilla and honey appear very quickly in the light, spicy oak.
The finish is long for a blend, retaining this very light slightly smoky bitterness.
Not unpleasant even if you can smell a little bit of caramel added to the mixture.
