LE VERGER DES ORCADES – Score: 9/10

Il est des dégustations qui finissent mal, d’autres en apothéose.

Ce fût le cas de cette série de dégustation se terminant par ce splendide Highland Park embouteillé par MacKilllop’s Choice.

Personne ne présente plus la distillerie Highland Park, joyaux des îles Orcades, en plein dans la zone pétrolifère de l’Ecosse.

Alors attaquons directement ce petit joyau qui m’a laissé une excellente impression.

La bouche est onctueuse et délicate. Pas d’agression éthylique malgré ses 51,8%. On passera par de multiples saveurs s’articulant et se succédant avec harmonie : Amandes sèchées pour commencer suivi de pommes rouges, de poires doyennées, de pêches blanches puis une finale légèrement chocolatée.

Un ravissement pour les papilles justifiant sont prix (malgré tout abordable pour sa qualité) de près de 200€

Un must dans votre cabinet !

ORCHARD OF THE ORKNEY – Score: 9/10

There are tastings that end badly, others in apotheosis.

This was the case with this tasting series ending with this splendid Highland Park bottled by MacKilllop’s Choice.

No needs to introduce the Highland Park Distillery, jewels of the Orkney Islands, in the heart of Scotland’s oilfield.

So let’s go straight to this little gem which left a great impression on me.

The palate is smooth and delicate. No alcohol harsh despite its 51.8%. We will go through multiple flavors that articulate and follow one another in harmony: Dried almonds to begin with, followed by red apples, comice pears, white peaches and a slightly chocolate finish.

A delight for the taste buds justifying its price (despite being affordable for its quality) of nearly 200 €

A must have in your cabinet!
