Troisième opus à tester de cette série dédiée aux finish en fûts de vin après le Porto et le Sauternes, nous passons à présent à celui en fût de Marsala.
Le Marsala est un vin sicilien comparable aux vins du sud de la péninsule ibérique tels les porto ou les sherry. Un vin plutôt capiteux et qui, pour ma part, meilleur quand il est utilisé pour parfurmé les fûts de whisky.
En lisant d’ailleurs un peu l’histoire de ce vin, j’apprend qu’à l’instar des porto et des sherrry, c’est encore un anglais qui a popularisé ce vin. Décidément, les anglais ne produisent rien de bon gustativement mais ont du goût pour les bonnes choses 🙂
Cette version en Marsala nous offre une base céréalière commune sans doute à toute les autres versions de cette série (normal, c’est un finish du même produit) enrobé de confiserie italienne.
La fin est plutöt poivrée et peu agréable. Légèrement en dessous des deux autres produits testés.

Third opus to test in this series dedicated to finishes in wine barrels after Port and Sauternes, we are now moving on to the one in Marsala barrels.
Marsala is a Sicilian wine comparable to wines from the south of the Iberian Peninsula such as port or sherry. A rather heady wine which, for me, is best when used to flavor whisky barrels.
By reading a little about the history of this wine, I learned that, just as port and sherry, it was still an Englishman who popularized this wine. Decidedly, the English do not produce anything good in taste but have a taste for good things 🙂
This version in Marsala offers us a cereal base probably common to all the other versions of this series (obviously since it is a finish of the same product) coated with Italian confectionery.
The end is rather peppery and not very pleasant. Slightly below the other two products tested.
