De passage dans cette belle ville de Nyon, en Suisse, sur les bords du Lac Léman, je découvre une sympathique boutique gérée par un tout aussi sympathique tenancier m’accueillant avec sourire au sein de son établissement.

Nous discutons bien évidemment whisky, commentant les nouvelle productions, les goûts de certains clients, les prix exorbitants pratiqués par les distilleries.

Tout en discutant de Billy Walker et de son rachat de GlenAllachie, le tenancier me propose de goûter le GlenAllachie 15 ans.

Comment refuser pareille offre ? C’est donc avec joie que j’accepte ce geste et trempe mes lèvres dans ce breuvage aux belles couleurs de vieux chêne.

La puissance et la présence de ce whisky est tout simplement époustouflante. Un corps très gras, très huileux tapisse l’entièreté du palais. Les fruits rouges sont à peine survenu qu’un tsunami chocolaté vous submerge les papilles gustatives, prenant le pas sur l’ensemble des saveurs. Cela se terminera sur une présence de café robusta en finale douce-amère.

Un whisky très puissant (trop dirons certains, dont mon hôte) voire capiteux.

Passing through this beautiful town of Nyon, in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva, I discovered a friendly shop run by an equally friendly owner who welcomed me with a smile to his establishment.

We obviously discuss whisky, commenting on new productions, the tastes of certain customers, the outrageous prices charged by the distilleries.

While discussing Billy Walker and his takeover of GlenAllachie, the owner offers me to taste the GlenAllachie 15 years.

How to refuse such an offer? It is therefore with joy that I accept this gesture and dip my lips in this beverage with the beautiful colors of old oak.

The power and presence of this whisky is simply breathtaking. A very fatty, very oily body lines the entire palate. The red berries have barely appeared when a chocolate tsunami overwhelms your taste buds, taking precedence over all flavors. It will end with a presence of robusta coffee on the bittersweet finish.

A very powerful whisky (too much to say some, including my host) even heady.
